Gayle Mandle

  • Gayle Wells Mandle is an American artist based in South Dartmouth, MA. Previously she had studios in Washington DC, Providence, RI, and for four years in Doha, Qatar. Her work has been exhibited nationally in many different venues including Tang Museum, Greater Reston Arts Center, New Canaan Library, Providence Art Club, Sarah Doyle Gallery and List Gallery at Brown University, Plum Gallery, Leila Heller Gallery, Addison/Ripley Fine Art, Trudy Labelle Fine Art, and Maienza Wilson Gallery. Her work has been reviewed in ARTnews, Art&Auction, Art New England, and The Washington Post, among other publications.

  • Gayle has an MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and BS in Art Education from Skidmore College. Her early successful career as an interior designer earned her broad recognition and publicity in Architectural Digest, Metropolitan Home, New England Home, Coastal Living, Boston Globe, and several books on design.

    Gayle experiments broadly with different media in her painting. Her love of found objects and textiles is juxtaposed with her own photography, handwriting and energetic brush strokes.
